Drabblecast, the podcast of weird fiction, ran Jackalope Wives  by Ursula Vernon. It’s a wonderful piece of dark fantasy in a southwestern milieu, which borrows from the myths of both skinwalkers and selkies, and likely other shapeshifting tales as well.

Breaking the silence after too long a hiatus, here’s a link of interest, a strange and entertaining audio story that fans of strange and alien animals may find interesting.

Drabblecast, the podcast of weird fiction, ran Local Delicacies  by  Fran Wilde. The tale shows a resourceful restaurant manager dealing with some rather unique and very challenging customers.

Escape Pod – Good Hunting   November 18th, 2013

Escape Pod, the science-fiction podcast, brings the compelling story Good Hunting by Ken Liu.

This audio story is a haunting speculative fiction tale set in early 20th century China, a world in transition between old magics and new one. It features both fox demons and steampunk technology and a beautifully sad character-drama plot.

PodCastle – Sundae   August 14th, 2013

Anthro Dreams has been on a bit of a hiatus due to a combination of crazy work hours and the lazy days of summer. Episodes are planned to return in September. In the meantime, here’s a link to a nice bit of audio fiction.

PodCastle, the fantasy podcast ran Matt Wallace’s story Sundae. It’s a tale of a discarded teddy bear, a battered warrior who has protected kids from the monsters hiding in darkness down the long years, who waits, forgotten in the attic, until he might be needed once more.
